What Marcus Will
Fight For

A clear, actionable agenda built around the real challenges Jacksonville residents face every day— not vague promises, but concrete priorities with plans behind them.

01 Public Safety & Community Trust
Invest in both proven public safety strategies and the community relationships that make neighborhoods actually feel safe. Marcus supports adequate resources for first responders while also championing community policing partnerships, intervention programs, and mental health response teams.
02 Education & Youth Opportunity
Advocate for expanded after-school programs, teacher retention incentives, vocational training pipelines, and partnerships with local employers that create real career pathways for every student in District 4—regardless of zip code.
03 Small Business & Economic Development
Cut bureaucratic red tape for small business permits, create a district-level business support office, attract responsible development that brings jobs to local residents first, and ensure growth doesn't displace the families who built this community.
04 Infrastructure & Neighborhood Investment
Fix aging roads, improve drainage, upgrade aging public facilities, and ensure every neighborhood in District 4 receives equitable investment in its physical infrastructure—not just the areas that already have political clout.
05 Transparent, Accountable Leadership
Hold regular community town halls, publish a clear public record of votes and actions, respond directly to constituent concerns, and bring a culture of genuine accountability to City Hall that residents haven't always been able to count on.

"Jacksonville deserves a council member who shows up before the cameras do."

Marcus Johnson has spent years building relationships in the district through community organizing, small business advocacy, and neighborhood service.

About the Candidate

Meet Marcus

"Communities deserve leaders who will show up before the cameras do—and stay accountable long after they leave."

Marcus Johnson was born and raised in Jacksonville and knows what it means to build something with consistency, faith, grit, and service. He's a husband, father, mentor, and advocate for neighborhood progress—someone who has spent years supporting community efforts, small business visibility, youth engagement, and the kinds of honest conversations that bring people together instead of driving them apart.

He's not running to become another polished voice talking at people. He's running to represent residents clearly, communicate openly, and push for results people can actually feel: safer streets, stronger educational support, real economic opportunity, and more trust between local leadership and everyday citizens.

Marcus believes Jacksonville moves forward when all families—Black, White, Hispanic, immigrant, veteran, working professional, retiree, student, young parent, faith community, and local entrepreneur—feel genuinely seen and heard by the people making decisions at City Hall.
